Woodbrook Shanganagh Wastewater Network Extensions

Uisce Éireann Growth and Development Programme

Uisce Éireann is upgrading the wastewater network at Woodbrook, Shanganagh to support future growth and development in the area.

The works involve the installation of 2.5km of new sewerage pipes and is part of a project to improve the capacity of the existing wastewater system and operational performance in the area.

This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area.

The works commenced in August 2023 and are being carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Ltd. and are expected to be completed in October 2024.

What are the benefits of the works?

The benefits of these wastewater network works include:

  • Supporting social and economic development - This project will facilitate social and economic growth, including planned residential development.
  • Improving the wastewater network - This project will upgrade the wastewater network, increasing the capacity to deliver reliable, sustainable high-quality wastewater services.

Works Update

We are scheduled to carry out works to reinstate the permanent road surface at Corbawn Avenue, Quinns Road, Corbawn Drive and Shanganagh Cliffs from Monday 19 August 2024.

A Stop/Go traffic management system will be in place to safely facilitate these works. Standard working hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Works will commence in Corbawn Avenue from Monday 19 August, and progress in sections towards Quinn’s Road, Corbawn Drive and Shanganagh Cliffs. We anticipate reinstatement works to take 4 to 5 weeks to complete.

To ensure the efficient delivery of these works, we kindly request that you refrain from parking vehicles on the roads in question between the hours of 8am to 6pm while works are ongoing in your area.
