Staleen Water Treatment Plant to Donore Reservoir Water Mains Replacement

Uisce Éireann is progressing plans to replace 3km of watermains between Staleen Water Treatment Plant and the reservoir at Donore. This investment will provide for future growth while providing resilience and security of supply across South Louth.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Meath County Council, is progressing plans to replace 3 kilometres of asbestos cement trunk watermain between the Staleen Water Treatment Plant and the reservoir at Donore. The existing 52-year-old asbestos cement trunk watermain between Staleen WTP and Donore Reservoir is the sole water supply to the South Louth Water Supply Zone, which extends from Drogheda as far as Clogherhead, Co. Louth.  The new watermain will address the security of supply issues that are recurring and will provide capacity to facilitate future planned growth and development in the area.
