Meath Water Mains Rehabilitation Project

Water Project

Uisce Éireann will commence works to replace 5.2km water mains in Kells which are prone to frequent bursts and leakage. This €8.5 million project will improve security of water supply to business and residents across Meath including Kells.

The Meath Water Mains Rehabilitation Project will involve the rehabilitation and replacement of approximately 25km of aging water mains across the county. This project will replace aging water mains with new heavy duty polyethylene (heavy duty plastic) and ductile iron pipes across 16 areas in Co. Meath including approximately 5.2km in total in Kells.

This investment will provide a more reliable water supply by strengthening and reinforcing the networks in these supply areas, reducing disruptions in supply, improving water quality and reducing leakage. Upon completion, there will be significant improvements in network performance and levels of customer service in terms of efficiency and security of supply.
