Knockgorm/Kilcorney Cross Water Main Replacement
National Leakage Reduction Programme
Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Cork County Council, has replaced ageing water mains in the Knockgorm/Kilcorney Cross area to improve security of supply and reduce high levels of leakage.
The works involved the decommissioning of 1.9km of problematic water mains and installation and commissioning of polyethylene (plastic) pipes in their place. These works were carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme. The works were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Northumbrian Limited.
