Foxhall/Cahermore Water Main Replacement
National Leakage Reduction Programme
Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Cork County Council, is replacing problematic water mains in Foxhall/Cahermore, to improve security of supply, reduce high levels of leakage and improve water quality.
The programme to replace 770m of water mains in the Foxhall/Cahermore area will commence on 29 May. These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme. The 770m section of works be undertaken from Cahermore Cross, south, towards Rosscarbery. The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Northumbrian Ltd. and are expected to be completed within 6 weeks.

Steps
- The works involve the initial replacement of over 770 metres of problematic pipes prone to bursts with polyethylene (plastic) pipes
- The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply
- Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these will be replaced as part of this improvement work
