Works underway to restore water supply following a burst watermain in Duleek, Co. Meath

Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Duleek and surrounding areas of Co Meath following a major burst to a watermain overnight.

Every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but the burst may impact the communities of Duleek, Donore, Roughgrange, Corballis, Carranstown, Dowenstown, Rossnaree, Garballagh, Knockisland, Knockcommon, Drumman, Lougher, Gillstown and surrounding areas.

A water tanker is currently deployed at Main St, Duleek serving local businesses and residents. Customers are reminded that when taking water from tankers to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

An Uisce Éireann crew is now on site and has commenced work to repair the burst watermain. It is expected that works will be completed by this evening.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
Uisce Éireann’s Michael Cunniffe assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
