Works underway to restore full supply to all customers served by Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Uisce Éireann is aware of water outages impacting customers supplied by the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme (RWSS). This was caused by operational issues at the water treatment plant resulting in reservoir levels depleting to low levels.
The issues at the treatment plant have been addressed and it is now fully operational. While reservoir levels recover and pressure builds in the water network, some customers in the following areas may experience low pressure or interruption to supply until late in the evening on Thursday 10 October:
- Areas served by the Ardfinnan RWSS: Ardfinnan, Goatenbridge, Grange, Knocklofty, Newcastle, Ballyclerihan, Barne, Marifield, Rathkeevin, Newchapel, Loughloher, Cranna, Kilcommon, Ballyea, Magherareagh and Castlegrace.
- The Graigue Group Water scheme supplied by Ardfinnan RWSS is also affected.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, Water Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann, Colin Cunningham said: “Unfortunately a shut down at the treatment plant depleted all available water supplies at the reservoir. Crews were onsite quickly and the plant is currently operational again"
“We regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue and thank the local community for their patience while we complete the repairs.”
