Works ongoing to restore water supply following a burst in South Tipperary

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Shronell Beg, Cullen, Ballinard, Limerick Junction and the surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary following a burst water main.

Water service repair crews have been dispatched and are carrying out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. Works are scheduled to take place until 4:30 pm this evening.

Following repair works, it typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network and the local reservoir, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham said, “We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”

Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, real-time, and local information on our water Service and Supply Issues page. (Ref. TIP00084639).

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
