Uisce Éireann to undertake essential maintenance works at Kilmessan Reservoir

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann wishes to advise customers in Kilmessan that essential maintenance works will take place at Kilmessan Reservoir on Tuesday, 1 October.

As a result of these works, customers in Kilmessan, Bective, Cooljohn, Baldoyle, Curtistown Lower, Curtistown Upper, Kilcarty, Ringlestown and surrounding areas may experience a water outage, low pressure and/or water discolouration between the hours of 3am Tuesday morning to 11.30pm on Tuesday night.

These scheduled maintenance works are necessary to continue to provide a safe and reliable water supply to customers.

Uisce Éireann understands the impact that supply interruptions can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during these essential works.

Following works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to all customers as the network replenishes.

If discolouration occurs, it may be intermittent and take up to 48 hours to clear across the network. Uisce Éireann recommends running the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour. For more information, please customers can visit our Discolouration page

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries.
