Uisce Éireann notifies Ballyvaughan motorists of delays to road closure
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann wishes to advise motorists that the road closure on the R477 Fanore Road to facilitate the upgrade of Ballyvaughan Sewerage Scheme will not go ahead as planned on November 25th, 2024. The postponement of these works is due to an unforeseen delay encountered in the construction works.
In June of this year, expert crews began working to ensure the safe delivery of essential works to facilitate the upgrade of Ballyvaughan Sewerage Scheme.
This project will end the current practice of discharging untreated wastewater into the sea at Ballyvaughan Bay and ensure there is capacity available for future social and economic growth in the area.
The road closure will be rescheduled and Uisce Éireann will ensure that any updated information is communicated to the local community and road users in advance.
