Crews make further progress in restoring water supply to customers

Water has been restored to over 4,500 homes and businesses since yesterday, with approximately 2,800 premises remaining without water this lunchtime following Storm Éowyn.

In areas where water has not yet returned, alternative water supplies remain in place to support local communities. We are also liaising with Local Co-ordination Groups and Emergency Response Hubs in areas where these have been established, as well as the Civil Defence. Updates on the location of alternative water supplies and other supply updates are available on our website. For some local areas, where feasible are continuing to tanker water directly to the reservoir or into the network to return to supply to customers. 

Generators have been installed at almost all of the plants, pumping stations and reservoirs where it is feasible to do so and our crews continue to operate and maintain these. We are continuing to work closely with the ESB to prioritise the restoration of electricity supply in the remaining locations and thank them for their ongoing support.
Uisce Éireann is also reminding customers to continue to conserve water where possible as supplies return in order to allow reservoir levels to recover. There are some simple steps people can take to conserve their water, such as avoiding the use of water-intensive appliances during this time.
